JKF Gojukai Grading for Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia Instructors.



An Australian contingent from the Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia. joined participants from around the World for the July 2010 All Japan Karate Federation Gojukai (JKF Gojukai) International Championships held in Takamatsu City, Japan. Each Year the Three Day JKF Gojukai Seminar, JKF Gojukai Dan Grading & Tournament are staged in a different City location of Japan.

Prior to this Event, the Seiwakai Group travelled to Omagari, Daisen City in Akita Prefecture to the Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Hombu Dojo of Seiichi Fujiwara Shihan & Shuji Tasaki Hanshi.
The Seven Day Seminar and Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Grading is a Special time for all black belts each year for intense instructors level training & Dan grading with all members & senior high Dan instructors from across Europe, Asia, USA & Canada.

This Year saw the JKF Gojukai Australia, President & Head Instructor of the Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia, Glenn Stephenson Shihan, was tested and awarded by Shuji Tasaki Hanshi the Rank of 6th Dan Renshi (Rokodan) Goju Ryu Karate Do Seiwakai & 5th Dan JKF Gojukai. Making Glenn Stephenson Shihan now the Highest Senior Rank in Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia, surpassing his mentor and instructor in Australia Keith Hill, Soke Shihan, 5th Dan.

At the end of the Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai training & grading in Omagari the group travelled to Takamatsu City for the JKF Gojukai Seminar & Grading, where Queensland Director & Senior Instructor of Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia, Iyan Mackenzie Shihan, was Graded to the Rank of 5th Dan Shihan (Godan) Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai and 5th Dan Shihan (Godan) JKF Gojukai Karate. Iyan Mackenzie Shihan is now the next Senior Rank in Australia, Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia.

It's a ' First ' for the Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia as Iyan Mackenzie Shihan is the only Australian Senior Instructor in Queensland and Australia to receive this coveted, Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai 5th Dan & JKF Gojukai 5th Dan Grading.

For Mackenzie Shihan it has Proudly been the Culmination of many years of Karate training, beginning on the Northern Beaches in 1972 with Paul Starling Shihan, Yamaguchi Gojukai, Tino Ceberano Hanshi IGK (who he still trains with when Tino Ceberano Hanshi is in Australia) in the most recent Years under the watchful eye of Stephenson Shihan, Fujiwara Shihan & the late Shuji Tasaki Hanshi...( Sadly passed away this Year in 30 January 2011)

New Classes & Dojo locations will be Opening soon in Brisbane, Queensland for Goju Ryu Karate do Seiwakai Australia under the guidance and instruction of Iyan Mackenzie Shihan.
